Mitzuma’s goal was to upgrade the site from Magento 2.3.7 to the latest version, Magento 2.4.5. This transition is crucial for leveraging the enhanced features, security patches, and performance improvements offered by the updated version. Alongside this upgrade, they require our Magento developer’s expertise in executing several maintenance tasks related to server configurations to ensure seamless functionality and optimal performance without any technical hindrances.
Moreover, one of the aims was to revamp the design elements of both their homepage and product display pages (PDP). Challenges:
Our Magento-certified developers are not afraid of challenges as we understand that no project can be completed with hindrances, so we stay awake with our abilities and solve whatever technical problem comes our way. Now, let’s see what exact problems we faced while working on this project. While upgrading from Magento 2.3.7 to 2.4.5, we were getting an error showing that your requirements couldn’t be resolved to an installable set of packages. For which, we started the upgrade process all over again, but again the same message was displayed, at the last we ran a command (composer install –ignore-platform-reqs) that solved this problem.
Also, we designed a completely new homepage, after which we were seeing a very weird problem. Suddenly, the homepage started to look different from any other pages on my site, and there was some problem with the session ID; nonetheless, after purging the Varnish cache and disallowing the server-side scanner to access the “panel tool”, the site went back to normal.
Besides this, there was a customized API to run the site to sync products, inventory and all other data, but due to some issue, the ERP software was storing the inventory data in a cached area and not actually in the database directly. The module that pushed the inventory doesn’t pull the correct inventory numbers all the time. Anyway, we solved it, too, by making some smaller changes in the software settings.
