Client’s Needs:
The Harry Hall team has a series of requirements that they’d like to discuss with our Magento developers. First and foremost, they were looking for Omteria CRM integration to streamline their customer relationship management processes and automate their marketing process while targeting customers with all their touchpoints.
Additionally, they demanded for a specialized module for animal medication integrated within their e-commerce store with the aim to facilitate easy browsing and purchasing of various medications and related products for pets and animals.
Another essential aspect to consider was offering product personalizations to their customers by leveraging the custom product designer of Magento that facilitated the store to display a realistic live preview of products and assisted in making numerous changes, including color, material & pattern options, custom map, custom clipart, custom text, monograms, and photos, & videos.
To expand their reach and increase sales among their target audience, they asked for integration of their Magento store with Amazon and eBay marketplaces. This also helped their team with reliable inventory management and order fulfilment services, as various tools and software can be used to synchronize inventory, update product information, and track sales across different platforms.
Moreover, their team was interested in implementing different types of price customizations as they were looking to offer unique pricing structures for specific customer groups, promotions, and bulk orders. Furthermore, their website’s theme is due for an update, so they required theme development that aligns with their brand and offers a modern and user-friendly design.
Plus, the other more critical requirement for them is the upgradation of their Magento store to the latest version to take advantage of new features, security updates, and performance enhancements, and other latest security features that ultimately lead to better performance.
In addition to all these, they need a custom API to sync it with the customer relationship management system (CRD); they wanted to integrate shipping integration as this tool gives access to the world’s top carriers, can import orders from different sources, shipping discounts, and many such advantages. Also, they wanted their site to be optimized for high speed and requested to integrate Review.io and SSO.
Challenges:
No great work comes with a package of challenges; the same happened with this project. As there were many things to implement with a lot of processes, we faced multiple technical issues. For instance, it took almost 1 day for us to resolve the theme problem as the theme was not displaying; also, when we resolved this issue, then we saw that the theme was lacking some of the essential features.
The next challenge was related to shipping integration. Because when we ship an order, it will not transmit back the tracking number and mark the order as shipped. Even though we double-checked the settings and other configurations, this problem persisted; however, later on, our expert developer did some tweaks to resolve this issue. Plus, for some of the products, it was showing inaccurate shipping costs.
Another issue was related to synchronization with Amazon and eBay integration; we saw that on Amazon and eBay out-of-stock products were showing live; we updated the eBay sites and Amazon Marketplaces in Magento, but still, for some products, we were seeing the same issues. There were some other small-big issues we encountered, but all the issues were resolved at the right time, and at last, the site was live.

Therefore, we successfully upgraded the website to the latest Magento version, ensuring that it remained secure and functioned optimally; plus after that, we checked the store with the Magento scan tool to ensure that there was no potential threat to the site.
To streamline their operations, we developed a custom API that synchronized with their CRD (Customer Relationship Database), enhancing data flow and accessibility. The integration of Ship station and Reviews.io was also executed to reduce shipping cost, and streamline the shipping process efficiently, and for advance review collection solutions.
Moreover, we implemented Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations to enhance user authentication and security, plus Harry Hall’s team wanted to integrate it for better login process from the customer’s end using their existing identity provider’s credentials, preventing the need for customer’s to remember another set of login credentials.
Next, we optimized the site for speed by reducing the initial server response time, used varnish for full page caching, leveraged Redis for session cache management, optimized the database, in addition, optimized all the media, minified CSS files, and removed some unnecessary JS files.
In summary, our comprehensive efforts and expertise in Magento development significantly improved Harry Hall’s online presence and functionality, ensuring a top-notch user experience and operational efficiency that, within a few weeks, started showing remarkable results for their business.
