Ruffle Butts is a US-based fast-paced ecommerce children’s apparel company with a strong reach across the globe. The company is a leading brand established in 2007 when it comes to a trustworthy online store for children’s apparel. A one-stop destination for all types of joyful clothing for newborn to 10-year-old kids – from head to toe.

Ruffle Butts is a proudly female-founded company with an idea to create a modern version of the Ruffled baby bloomers, Diaper covers, Infant clothing, and swimwear. Built on the foundation of gratitude, Ruffle Butts always believe to share smiles with everyone along the way.

Client’s Needs:

We are feeling proud to work for one of our reputed clients RuffleButts.com. We were briefed to redesign and migrate their current site, which was originally built on an older version of Magento. As the support of the Magento 1 platform was about to end, they were looking for a Magento development team to migrate their website to the latest version of Magento as per their requirement.

While approaching us for migration, redesign, customizations, and extensions, the company had already realized some of the limitations of their existing store such as website designs were not really attractive and not as per the current style and trends of eCommerce websites, the website was lacking in terms of performance, poor user experience. It was not built with a lot of important features, page load speed was slow, a website was not error and bug-free, and also a less user-friendly interface.

For all of the above reasons, the Ruffle Butts teams set some specific goals for our Magento team and also shared their expectations on this project. Project Aim was to bring elegance and freshness to their website, enhance the website performance, improve the user experience, migrate to the latest version, develop some custom modules, and add ERP modules.

Challenges:

There are several challenges for us in this Magento Project. Firstly, in terms of the website performance, it was strongly dependent on custom extensions, API integration, etc. We had to work on more than 30 custom modules in total. Also, it was not a simple task to migrate all the current data, plugins, and other things to the new website because the code was buggy.

The second-biggest challenge was to design a website that aligns with the current design and perform customizations as per client’s needs. In addition to this, the older version of the website has a large database that needs to be migrated to the latest Magento 2 version.

The customer had separate eCommerce websites to sell different products, and we had to develop a single store supporting multiple websites as the customer wants to unite them in a single website to reduce the cost and also to save time. Because managing multiple ecommerce websites at the same time with a lot of products was both time-consuming and expensive.

Solutions:

Soon after the completion of the initial analysis and detailed discussion, our team started working on implementing the required solutions. To deal with the above challenges, experts from our team came up with some suggestions.

We offered the client to create a new website from scratch and develop a module as per their needs. It includes tasks like Converting the Magento community website to Magento Enterprise Edition, copying all the current functionality from the existing website to the new one, migrating a current database into an enterprise database, installed the custom extension.

Additionally, we had also Fulfilled ERP and sales-related requirements, Developed 30+ custom modules as per client requirements, Written 200+ custom scripts, managed efficiently, performed customization in the checkout process, Had done customization in Product Detail Page (PDP customization), Migration of Product Category, Sales, and Customer, Dynamic popup integration to improve bounce rates, conversions, and return visits, Dynamic product options, product reviews, and Product pictures upload section.

Third-Party Integrations like Netsuite API integration for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Klaviyo API integration for Email & SMS Marketing, Sucuri setup for website security and protection.

We had also worked on the Wholesale order module and wholesale price integration. Also solved the Wholesale bulk ordering product issue by reindexing the creation of the wholesale product. Quick Order integration and customization for a more user-friendly interface and for an easy shopping experience. Customer sidebar menu integration, Customized Payment and Shipping, Speed Optimization, reward points, Solved PayPal Payment related issues, Bundle Products issues, Bundle landing page, Newsletter signup, and RMA module customization.

Final Result:

The customer fully appreciated the newly redesigned website for their multi-store, as it covered all their requirements. The improved UI and UX design make the website look more elegant and beautiful. Now, online shoppers view a website as a sleek and classy online store that was pleasant to buy and easy to navigate. The website loading speed got improved because of performance optimization. A customer has witnessed sales growth three times more than earlier.
